Red Tree Animal Clinic

Companion Animal Veterinary Services

Red Tree Animal Clinic is independently owned and operated by Dr. Tara Risling. We offer a spectrum of diagnostic and treatment options that best fit your pet and life, and treat every patient as though they’re our own. We are accepting new patients.

Veterinary Services

Surgery

Our experienced veterinarians are able to efficiently and skillfully accommodate your pet’s routine surgical needs (ie.spays/neuters) as well as more complicated mass removals, mature spays, emergency surgeries, and more. Stop in or call to discuss a consult.

Your pet’s comfort during their stay is a top priority. We use top of the line metal-free, low noise heated kennels that can be easily monitored by staff. We also have tethers for those dogs that don’t kennel well.

Dentistry

Dentistry is a major focus of Red Tree Animal Clinic, and we believe addressing and correcting dental disease is critical to wellbeing and quality of life. From routine cleaning and polishing to complicated extractions, our staff have years of experience performing high quality, affordable, comprehensive dentistry procedures. Stop in or call to discuss a consult. Your time is valuable, so we offer same day surgical and dental consults, including pre anesthetic lab testing if appropriate.

Wellness

Client concerns plus comprehensive physical exams guide us in best helping your pet. This may include vaccines, internal and external parasite prevention, microchipping, nutrition, dermatology, behavior management, laser therapy, pain control, and palliative care.

We tailor vaccine and deworming protocols to your pet’s lifestyle and needs.
To minimize patient stress in clinic, we have pre appointment sedation available, low stress weigh-in options and an indoor/outdoor exam room.

Emergencies

In clinic blood machines, urinalysis, digital radiographs, and ultrasound allow us to quickly triage your sick pet and come up with same day results. We strive to develop a diagnostic and treatment plan that best works for you and your pet.

Specialized Veterinary Nutrition

Board Certified veterinary nutritionist Dr. Caitlin Grant provides specialized dietary management for both healthy pets and those with chronic medical conditions. This includes diet therapy recommendations as well as formulating optimal homemade diets. Medical nutritional therapy can be critical to managing complex diseases such as kidney disease, urinary stone management, food allergies, and more.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is increasingly recognized as an effective treatment for a variety of conditions in dogs and cats, offering a safe, integrative therapy for your pet. Therapy involves the insertion of fine needles into specific points on the body to promote healing, reduce pain, and improve overall health.

I would like to thank all the staff at Red Tree Animal Clinic for being so loving and compassionate. Losing my dog has been incredibly hard, but your kindness and the thoughtful condolence card brought me comfort. I will always remember how gently and respectfully you cared for my dog and for me.

We have been going to red tree animal clinic for a year now with our dog. Every encounter we have had with the staff there has been wonderful. The veterinarians are very knowledgeable and approachable. The frontline receptionists go above and beyond, especially Mel! I would recommend red tree to anyone that needs a veterinarian.

Hands down the best vet clinic I have been to in Calgary. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, they actually take the time during the consult to fully listen and understand what the problem is, I can express how much I actually appreciate that quality. Highly recommend.

Amazing first experience with these folks! First, they gave a detailed, line by line estimate with a low and high end without me needing to bring my pup in. I had other clinics refuse to give me an estimate without seeing my dog (simple issues), and the estimates given were a dollar value. It wasn’t line by line and did not tell me what was included, or not. Second, they did my Franklin’s nares, cherry eye AND neuter for less than what other clinics quoted me for just the neuter and cherry eye. Other clinics quoted a minimum of $1500 for neuter and cherry eye. At Red Tree, neuter, cherry eye, and nares came to barely over $1400, and that included pre-anesthetic bloodwork and his take home meds. Obviously your quotes may vary based off size of the dog, and how long the procedures take! Third, the cherry eye procedure has a guarantee. If it fails, the clinic will redo for just the cost of anesthetic. If it happens again they don’t, but as the vet explained if it pops again, there may be a structural issue with the eye/eye socket that may need a specialist visit. Which is super reasonable! Fourth, and not the least important at all, their customer service is boss. I’ve worked customer service for 26 years, and I can’t think of a single thing I could improve on. Everyone I encountered seems like a genuinely good person, and happy to be at work, which implies that management is awesome too. Highly recommend these folks, I think they’re going to be my primary clinic from now on (I’ll be bringing my poodle too) and I’m telling EVERYONE. 🥰

A huge shout out to the staff at Red Tree. 🫶🐾 The ladies at reception put us at ease right away. As they and the vet Dr.Laura Beckerton all made our difficult appointment with our Stanley back in January a comfortable one. As we said goodbye to him at home. The kind staff at Red Tree sent us a beautiful card all signed with kind words & heartfelt messages.🐾🌈💙 We currently have brought our new fur baby Sasha in for her 1st visit in February, and a rush vet visit soon after ! as puppies get into everything 😳Again, all the welcoming faces and kind vet staff put us at ease with our new rescue. Mel at reception another husky owner was someone Sasha & ourselves enjoyed seeing. I recommend this clinic 100000x over. Thank you so much again Red Tree staff. You do amazing things everyday and are greatly appreciated.

We got our little girl Bambi’s dental cleaning done here and we are so impressed! The staff were so kind and friendly - unlike any veterinary clinic I’ve been to. They seemed to genuinely care about our fur baby and I could tell she was in great hands. The doctor did a thorough explanation of the procedure prior to, and we felt very comfortable that our girl was going to be well taken care of. The price was also very reasonable. Would 100% recommend this clinic to anyone!!
