Clinic Tour

Our clinic is conveniently located off Sarcee Trail near Beacon Hill and Costco in NW Calgary, with easy access for residents of Bearspaw, Cochrane, Springbank, Airdrie, Nolan Hill, Nolanridge, Sage Hill, and Glacier Ridge. Minutes from Stoney Trail, we are also readily accessible for clients coming from anywhere in NW Calgary and beyond.

Years of experience in the veterinary industry was channeled into the  custom design of our new space, with a focus on optimizing both patient and client care.

Red Tree Animal Clinic Veterinary Services Scale

Scale Area

Our scale was designed to be sunken flush with the flooring. This eliminates the need for animals to climb up onto the scale to be weighed, which can be a stressful first step of the vet visit for many dogs

Exam Rooms

We have various exam room size options to best suit your pet. For those that are nervous in smaller spaces, or don’t like going through reception, we have an extra large room with a roll up door that allows for indoor/outdoor consultations. This can be accessed by driving around to the rear of the clinic.

We are happy to discuss pre exam sedation for those nervous or shy pets. House calls are also an option for those pets that just don’t do well in clinic.

Kennels

We have sourced all of our animal housing with pet comfort in mind. Our large dog runs feature full visibility front panels and are free of metal bars, making for more quiet and peaceful stays with us. We are also able to see each dog from our treatment area, facilitating better monitoring and interaction with the dogs.

We have several areas to which we can safely tether animals which do not kennel well if that alternative is needed.

Our smaller dog and cat kennels are also metal free, and are equipped with built in floor warmers to keep animals cozy post operatively and partial privacy screens for those that are shy.

Dentistry

Dentistry is a main focus of our practice, and an area of veterinary medicine where we feel we are best able to positively influence pets’ quality of life. Our state-of-the art suite includes digital dental x-ray and the best quality dental tools and equipment. Anesthetized complete oral exams and x-rays are the gold standard for detecting diseased teeth as many painful oral problems are lurking, invisible, below the surface of the gums. Our class IV infrared laser is used routinely to assist in healing inflamed gums and extraction sites. We have a registered veterinary technician dedicated to anesthetic monitoring throughout the procedure. Call us to discuss a quote for addressing your pet’s dental needs.

Red Tree Animal Clinic Surgery Room

Surgery

From routine spays and neuters to mature spays to complicated mass removals and exploratory abdominal surgery we are happy to provide our services and consultations. Routine surgeries are treated with a complementary post operative laser treatment to improve blood flow and initiate the healing process as quickly as possible. We walk the client through each step of the procedure and are here for any post operative support needed.

Laser Therapy

Our class 4 laser uses specific wavelengths of light (red and near-infrared) to create therapeutic benefits and stimulate healing. Soft tissue injury, strains/sprains, wounds, skin infections (including interdigital cysts), and ear infections are some of the applications of this non traditional treatment modality. We also routinely offer a complementary post operative laser treatment of spay/neuter surgical sites and dental cases.

In House Diagnostics

When your animal is unwell we want to be able to provide answers right away, and for that reason we have a multitude of in-house blood, urine, and fecal testing available at Red Tree.

Digital radiographs and ultrasound are also available on both an emergency and non emergency basis to assist in accurately diagnosing any issues your pet may have. Since completing additional abdominal ultrasound training at the Academy of Veterinary Imaging in Texas Dr. Tara has used ultrasound as a means to enhance her patient care daily.

House Calls

We provide in home wellness consultations, vaccines, deworming, and medicine consults. Our experienced staff are able to obtain blood and urine samples as needed and bring them back to the clinic for same day results. This is ideal for owners or pets who are not able to travel or who are more comfortable in their own home. We also provide euthanasia services for those who choose to say goodbye to their beloved pets in the comfort of their home.

Indoor dog playroom

Red Tree is excited to offer an in-clinic doggie playroom complete with agility equipment, toys, and ample space to run around under staff supervision. This space is perfect for those busy clients that want to combine a vet visit with some playtime, allowing owners to run errands. This is a great option when the weather is hot, smoky, or cold – which is much of the year in Calgary! This is the perfect space for adoption events, puppy classes, and behavioral work.

Rescues

Red Tree is proud to collaborate with a number of Calgary and area rescues (Meow Foundation, Calgary Humane Society, BARC’s, Boomer’s Haven, Cochrane Humane Society) to assist with the ever increasing homeless and stray population. We offer free post adoption consultations and donate surgical and dental services for pets in need.
